Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

I was talking to my mom not that long ago and we were discussing recipes.  Nothing major really, just want some of our favorites were or what we have not tried in a while, you know, things like that.  That got me to thinking of this recipe.  It is one that my mom use to make when I was a kid, but we only ever had it for special occasions, or if company was coming.  It is probably one of the easiest recipes, and if you are a peanut butter lover, it is an AWESOME recipe.

This is one of those pies, that takes very little time to make and goes quickly.  It is rich and creamy and just full of peanut butter flavor.  One piece is more than enough to satisfy a peanut butter craving, and is easily as good for sharing.  My whole family loves this pie, with the exception of my oldest daughter who thinks it is a crime against nature to mix chocolate and peanut butter together.  REALLY?!?!  Where did she come from???  Anyway, with the exception of her, this is a made to die for pie.

Now by all means, you can totally make your own crust, but I took the easy way and just used a store bought chocolate pie crust.  Works just as well and saves me time.

There are only a few ingredients in the recipe and will take no time at all to whip up.

Here is what you need:
1 - 8oz package cream cheese
5 Tablespoons of peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla
2 1/4 cups of powder sugar
1 - 8oz container Cool Whip

Mix the cream cheese, peanut butter and vanilla together until smooth.  Carefully add in the powder sugar and mix until well combined.

Add Cool Whip and mix until all is incorporated and light and fluffy.

Pour mixture into a ready made pie crust and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.

Happy Baking and ENJOY!!
